My Story
Hi, my name is Sophie, and I was born in Toronto. I attended Richmond Rose Elementary School and Bayview Secondary School. In high school, my favourite subjects were math and physics, where I excelled and graduated with a top-six average of 94%. I’m now a double major in Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
I placed 6th in the DS3 2026 Datathon, won a LARQ water bottle at GenAI Genesis, and recently won an Arduino kit at the ElleHacks Olympics event. In STAD57 Time Series Analysis, I worked on a project analyzing multivariate European crude oil time series data, where I fit ARIMA and cointegration models and refined a comprehensive report covering data preprocessing, modeling, model evaluation metrics, and insights.
I’m interested in web development and am currently taking a web development course run by Algorithm Alchemists. I was recently accepted to U of T’s ASA DataFest (May 1–3, 2026), and I’m excited to apply my statistics knowledge to analyze a real-world dataset!
